Asst.Prof. Aleksandar Janičić, Md, PhD, is a urology specialist and a doctor of medical science in the area of urology. Thanks to his great knowledge and experience in the area of urology, he conducts all diagnostic procedures which are necessary for his patients. His work also comprises complex pathology concerning kidney tumours, upper tract urothelial tumours, urinary bladder tumours, benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer as well as urinary tract calculosis and urinary infections.

Within his surgical work, he performs almost all surgical interventions, which include: partial and radical nephrectomy, radical prostatectomy, total cystectomy, testicular and penile malignoma surgery as well as endoscopic surgical procedures (TUR, URS, endolithotripsy-lithoclast, etc.)

He has made an outstanding contribution to the modern approach to the surgical treatment of the renal parenchyma tumour, where he contributed to the affirmation of the sparing procedures in the treatment of localised carcinoma of the renal parenchyma.

He has also published several research papers in this area in international journals, and it was also the topic of his PhD thesis. So far, he has performed more than 400 sparing operations with patients with a renal parenchyma tumour.

He is one the first doctors in Serbia who perform minimally invasive surgical procedures in the treatment of urinary incontinence in women and men, which he was previously educated for at European reference centres which are the leaders in this area and which he holds special certificates for in this area.

Dr. Aleksandar Janičić was born on 23.10.1971 in Sarajevo.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade in May 1995, with a GPA of 8.77, where he later also completed the mandatory internship. He has been employed on a permanent basis with the Urology Clinic of the Clinical Centre of Serbia in Belgrade since 1996 and he has been the Head of II Department of the Urology Clinic of the the University Clinical Centre of Serbia since 2018.

 

SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT

2001 – He passed the medical licensing examination in Urology with distinction.

2002 – He gain the title of an oncology subspecialist at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade.

2003 – He defended his master thesis on “the Assessment of the Significance of the M-VAC Systemic Chemotherapy in the Treatment of Advance Cancer of the Urinary Bladder” at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade.

2004 – He defended his PhD thesis on “the Significance of Conserving Surgeries on the Treatment of the Localised Renal Parenchyma Carcinoma” at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade.

2005 – He was elected to the position of a Clinical Lecturer at the Department of Surgery with Anaesthesiology of the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade

2006 – He was elected to the position of the Assistant Professor at the Department of Surgery with Anaesthesiology of the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade and he was re-elected to this position in October 2023.

Professional development in Serbia and abroad:

2003 – He completed educational course for young urologists organised by EAU (EUREP) in Prague.

2004 – He completed the course in minimally invasive surgery at the Institute for Endoscopic Surgery in Hamburg (ESI-Curriculum III) (Prof. Daniel Krunch).

2005 – Study residence on the topic of male incontinence, ARGUS Sling method, at Den Bosh Clinic in the Netherlands (Prof. Bard Schrier).

2006 – He completed the course on the female incontinence and pelvic floor disorders in Udine, Italy (Prof. Bruno Freea).

2007 – He actively participated in the workshop on new “sling” technique in solving female stress urinary incontinence in Ljubljana, Slovenia (Prof. Adolf Lukanovič).

2008 – He completed an Educational Course in minimally invasive procedures in treating female urinary incontinence in Prague, the Czech Republic  (Prof. Alojiz Martan).

He is the author and the co-author of more than 50 research papers.
