Dr Slavica Ćirić

Dr. Slavica Ćirić is one of the pioneers of the application of the ultrasound in the diagnostics of  endocrinological diseases with over 40 years of experience.

Her main area of expertise are diseases of the thyroid gland, with a special interest in:

• ultrasound diagnostics of thyroid nodules
• post-operative monitoring of thyroid cancers
• pre-operative localisation of the enlarged parathyroid glands.

She performs ultrasound, colour Doppler and elastographic examinations of the thyroid glands, the parathyroid glands and lymph nodules as well as the ultrasound-controlled fine needle aspiration (FNA) .

She completed several schools for and courses in ultrasonography (European Thyroid Association Thyroid Ultrasound Course, AACE/ACE Advanced Neck Ultrasound Training Course, Mayo Clinic Thyroid Ultrasound Workshop etc.)

She is a lecturer at the Thyroid Ultrasound School of the Serbian Thyroid Society.

She worked at the Institute for Thyroid Diseases (1979-1986) and at the Clinic for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases of the University Clinical Centre of Serbia (1986-2018).

She is the member of the Serbian Thyroid Society, the European Thyroid Association (ETA) and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE).
