Dr. Aleksandra Živković is a top-notch expert in the area of internal medicine and cardiology, with a special interest for diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases as well as for work in intensive care. She offers her expertise to patients at Da Medika Polyclinic, where she conducts cardiology examinations, cardiac ultrasound and a cardiac stress test (ergometry).
Education and professional development
She completed her undergraduate studies, medical specialty training in internal medicine and medical subspecialty training in cardiology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade. She defended her subspecialist thesis in the area of cardiology in 2020, when she was awarded the title of cardiologist. She is currently doing her PhD degree in the area of cardiovascular research (since the school year of 2020/2021).
She acquired her practical skills in transthoracic echocardiography, cardiac stress test, 24-hour ECG Holter monitoring and blood pressure measuring at the “Dedinje” Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases, where she simultaneously completed the training for the work at the intensive care unit. She is currently undergoing a training in transoesophageal echocardiography and bronchoscopy.

Since completing her studies, Dr. Živković has been employed with the “Dedinje” Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases, where she applies her knowledge and skills in the work with inpatients and outpatients on an everyday basis. As a member of the Team for Cardiac Insufficiency, she has considerable experience in monitoring patients with an implanted LVAD, TAH and following a heart transplant.
Upon call, she has given physicians trainings for the work in intensive care in the State Cardiac Surgery in Skopje, North Macedonia, and CARVAR Heart Centre in China. Moreover, she has also been invited to work at the Chest Clinic in Kuwait.
Scientific work and congresses
Dr. Živković participates actively in numerous international congresses, including the following:

– Heart Failure Congress
She has published her papers in renowned journals and congressional publications, including those on topics such as the use of biomarkers in cardiac surgery, strategies for the reduced use of antibiotics and the analysis of inflammatory parameters with patients following an open-heart surgery.
